Being prepared for the unexpected.

The following is a story how the Mace Pepper Baton was used.

Christy waited tables at a hip little bistro a few blocks from her apartment.  Though she loved her neighborhood, she always prepared for the unexpected.

One night, one of the diners got a little out of hand. She could put up with rude customers, and she could even tolerate patrons who had a little too much to drink.

She and her boss agreed that anyone who tried to lay hands on her or on any of the wait staff would end up enjoying the rest of their meal "to go."

So her boss ejected a customer who looked like a rumpled college professor after he tried to pinch Christy's bottom. The guy created a huge stink, but the customers applauded when he fell down the steps and landed on the sidewalk with a thud.

Later that night, after Christy banked out and counted her tip money, she headed back down the street to her place. She thought she heard footsteps behind her, but saw nobody when she swung around.

Another block away from the restaurant, she thought she heard a trash can rattle. Still, she couldn't see anyone in the shadows.

Only a few steps away from her building's front door, Christy heard someone sneeze. She whipped around to see the drunken customer from earlier that night.

He lunged at her, shouting, "I'll show you!"

Instead of bolting for the door - she wouldn't have made it in time, anyway - she pulled out her keys. Instead of a usual keychain, Christy carries a Mace Pepper Baton. It's small enough to fit in a purse, and durable enough to inflict pain on an attacker.

As the drunken patron grabbed for her hair, Christy ducked down and slammed the Pepper Baton across his kneecap. Wincing in pain, he buckled over and made another swipe at her. She retaliated by holding onto the baton and swinging her keys against his face.

Stumbling, the attacker made one last grab. Christy pointed the baton at him, unleashing its secret weapon - a blast of debilitating pepper spray.

Christy's attacker crouched on the sidewalk while she dialed 9-1-1 on her cell phone.

"Next time," Christy said, "stick to what's on the menu."

Perfect Neighborhood Watch Weapon.

Charles was a member of the neighborhood watch in Tinley Park, Illinois. For 15 years, he never encountered any real danger. Most people considered the place quiet and boring. Despite this, he made it a point to be prepared always.
He did not carry a gun since watch members were not licensed the same way guards and police officers are, but he could bring a baton and a TASER. His TASER X26P  is a powerful weapon, one he never had to use before.
One night, his preparedness was rewarded. Just as he was about to head back to the office and call it a night, he heard a scream a few blocks south. Charles ran and found a teenage girl surrounded by two boys who seemed to be attempting to mug and rape her. Both had a knife, and the girl was leaning helplessly against the side of a parked car.
Charles acted quickly. He raised his weapon and aimed its laser sight at the man closest to him. Once he squeezed the trigger, the TASER X26P launched its cartridge for a good ten feet and caught the attacker right in the chest.
The man was shocked immediately. He collapsed to the ground.
If Charles understood correctly, electric currents would blow the man’s nervous systems ajar and he would lose all muscle control for several minutes. He did remain paralyzed on the ground, but Charles could not loosen up just yet because the second man was charging right at him.
Charles snapped the cartridge wires off the TASER X26P and ducked right in time to avoid the incoming punch. As this other man swerved past him, Charles rammed the TASER’s end to his ribs and squeezed the trigger again, sending high-voltage currents through his body.
With both attackers down, Charles grabbed his walkie-talkie and called for help. As he waited for the police and ambulance to arrive, he stayed by the girl’s side, comforting her and making sure she was not hurt.

Security at a fraction of the cost.

Marcy poured everything she had into her little gift shop. She rented a little building at the edge of a trendy neighborhood and converted the upstairs into a small apartment for herself.

Although she wished she had more money in her budget for a more elaborate security system, Marcy figured she'd be able to reinvest some of the profits from her business into a high-tech solution pretty quickly.

In the meantime, she picked up a few Motion Alert Alarm devices.

For a fraction of the cost of a hard-wired security system, Marcy installed Wireless Motion Alert Alarm stations throughout the building.

Each one includes a keypad that Marcy could use to switch between a chime, which would help her keep track of customers moving through the store, to an alarm, which would sound if someone attempted to sneak into her upstairs living space. She installed each one in just a few minutes, using only a screwdriver.

A few days after her grand opening, traffic in the store evened out a little bit, but kept Marcy pretty busy. Every time a new customer would enter the shop, the Motion Alert Alarm at the front door would welcome them with a discreet chime.

Marcy could glance up from whatever she was doing to welcome her guests. Even if she were helping someone else, she would notice the chime from the back room, which sounded when her second Motion Alert Alarm observed someone checking out Marcy's higher priced gifts.

One afternoon, a few of the neighborhood kids stopped in after school. Marcy wondered why kids would be interested in her shop, but hoped they'd at least tell their parents about it.  When one of the kids started asking lots and lots of questions, Marcy wondered if she was being set up.

Sure enough, she heard the wail from the Motion Alert Alarm she installed by her apartment. A second later, a petrified teenager bolted down the stairs out the door. His buddies hustled after him.

Not only did the Motion Alert Alarm prevent them from stealing any of her personal belongings, but she was sure that word would get out that her shop was off limits to thieves.

"Now," she thought, "I can take some of the money I was going to spend on upgrading that security system and hire myself an assistant!"

How the mystery was solved.

Jane had always been an avid pet lover her whole life. She couldn't stand to see animals hurt or suffering so needless to say she had quite a collection of unwanted pets that cherished her.

On her way to the grocery store one evening she had to take a side street due to an accident. She was passing through an older neighbor- hood when something caught her eye and she immediately stopped the car.

In a front yard was a dog tied to a chain with no food, water or shade. This infuriated her so much that she knew she had to do something. She went to the house and knocked on the door, looked in the windows and to her surprise the house was empty. Someone moved out and left their dog!

Jane knew she had just inherited a new friend. She got the dog home, bathed and fed. She named him Lucky. Lucky quickly found his place in the pack and loved his new home.

Shortly after, Jane became concerned because items around the house would go missing. She suspected it to be Lucky because things like this never happened before. Bread would be missing from the counter. They had gone through 2 TV remotes in a month.

So Jane invested in a small WiFi table clock that you can view anywhere you have Internet. She easily installed it on her hutch in her living room and waited.

This alarm clock is small and portable you can take it just about anywhere.

Lucky dodged the cameras for the first few days. He must have known something was going on. But it wasn't long after he was up to the tricks Jane suspect he was playing.

Lucky would take random items from all over the house and hide them under Jane's bed. Jane couldn't wait to get home and discover his treasure trove.

Jane couldn't believe all of the items Lucky had hidden. He never destroyed anything, he just collected them.

Lucky is now confined to the common areas of the house where he cannot secretly hide things. And Jane still uses her WiFi table clock to keep an eye on her babies.

The Emergency Canister of Pepper Spray

Nina had just accepted a big promotion, which meant a bigger paycheck, but a longer commute. Luckily, she lived in the city and commuted out to the suburbs, so she didn't get stuck in the crazy traffic that some of her friends had to endure every day.

One morning, she woke up extra early to get ready for an important staff meeting.  Scooting down a side road at over seventy miles per hour, she noticed flashing lights in her rear view mirror.

"Ugh," she grunted. "One week into this job and I'm already getting a ticket."

Still too early for many of the gas stations to be open, she pulled into a lighted space on the side of the road. Under the lights, she noticed the police car was unmarked. A trooper got out of the vehicle and paced toward her.

She rolled down the window a little bit as he approached.

"Good morning, ma'am," he said. "Do you know how fast you were going through that thirty five mile an hour zone?"

Kim rolled her eyes and said, "I'm sorry, officer, but I don't know. How fast do you believe I was going?"

"Let's not worry about what I think, just yet," he said. "I'll need you to step out of the car, please, ma'am."

Kim thought it was strange that he hadn't asked for her license or registration. And when she took a longer look at him, now that her eyes were adjusting to the light, she noticed he wasn't wearing a uniform.

"Officer, could I just see your identification clearly, please?" she asked.

"Ma'am, I order you to get out of this car RIGHT NOW," he demanded.

Kim observed that he looked far too unkempt to be a real police officer. At the same moment, the man tried to reach in through Kim's car window. She reached up for her visor and pulled out her emergency can of pepper spray.

Aiming right through the crack in the window, she nailed her attacker right in the eyes. As he stumbled into the road, she started up her car and sped up the highway. She found an open gas station a few miles up the road, where she called police.

They found her attacker stumbling through the woods not far from where Kim left him. It turns out he had been preying on women in the early morning hours for months, but hadn't been caught.

Kim not only saved herself, she helped put a dangerous man behind bars.

Caught in the act.

Sandy knew she was on to something every time she would swing by the towing company. As the city's newest investigative reporter, she wanted to make a name for herself. So when one of her viewers tipped her off that the city's towing contractor was secretly replacing air bags from the cars it was impounding, she thought she could finally create a major impact.

The first time she brought her camera crew out to the impound lot, she pretended to be picking up her car. Though her escort's patience was wearing thin as they walked the lot, Sandy was sure she caught a glimpse of the culprits in the act. Confident that she could capture the moment on freeze-frame, she hustled back to the news van a few blocks away.

To her dismay, she learned that the expensive wireless transmitter she was using just wouldn't work on the lot. Whether someone was jamming them or it was just some atmospheric disturbance, her team couldn't tell. Either way, the signal had cut out about two minutes into the operation, so Sandy would have to find another way to capture that image.

Sandy knew she had to find a way to record what was happening - the brazen thieves were looting cars in broad daylight! Surfing the web for ideas, Sandy found her solution. The Car Key Digital Video Recorder She could put it right on her key chain, and record all the video  she wanted - up to two hours, if she  really needed to.

Two days later, she confronted the city commissioner in the hallway outside his office. He tried to brush her off, telling her he had no time for crackpot conspiracy theories. So Sandy held the Car Key DVR up to his face. Their voices were loud and clear on the DVR's built-in speaker. The mural on the wall was unmistakable - Sandy had clear proof.

"Can I get a copy of this?" ask the commissioner.

"Got a computer handy?" replied Sandy.

Sandy gleefully attached her DVR to the commissioner's laptop, and copied over the digital video files. Not only did he commit to confronting the towing company's owners, he planned to show the video to a closed committee meeting so they could suspend the worker's contract.

That afternoon, Sandy's editor used the DVR's built-in composite video output to dump the footage to tape. It worked just like any other VCR or camcorder, and by the time that evening's newscast was over, viewers were filling up Sandy's voicemail with words of thanks.
